Assessment

Before we can jump in, I need to get to know your child and your family.

This is often the first interaction with the child. Building the relationship with the child is very important to me. If I see that the assessment will harm that process, I change the approach and re-assess at a later stage when the child is more comfortable.

Assessment can consist of:

  • Interview with parents, teachers, stakeholders

  • Review of videos, photos and other media/ observations at home

  • Informal assessment, the child is presented with a variety of play opportunities without restrictive rules and guidance.

  • Formal assessment with specific tests and clinical observations
